This session will inform utility managers, plant operators, and engineers about the process of implementing biogas to RNG projects, from the design through startup and commissioning. The presentation reviews two projects that are in operation in Colorado, to illustrate beneficial practices and lessons to learn from.
Learning Objectives:
Descirbe the process of implementing a biogas to RNG project from design through construction, and how to set the project up for success.
Identify the benefits of the alternative delivery structure for cost and schedule implementation.
List the obstacles that can arise when implementing pipeline injection, and strategies to successfully mitigate the issues.

Carollo Engineers
Tyler Dougherty is a Professional Engineer with Carollo Engineers. He grew up in the Seattle area before moving to Colorado, where he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Environmental and Civil Engineering. Since graduating, Tyler has worked mostly in wastewater for Carollo in the Denver area. He has worked on studies and master plans for plant-wide improvements, nutrient removal upgrades and biogas utilization. Design project experience includes headworks improvements, biological nutrient removal, solids processing and digestion, and biogas treatment and utilization.
