CWEA Contact Hours: 1.2 contact hours towards CWEA's Collection System Maintenance, Environmental Compliance Inspector, Mechanical Technologist and Electrical & Instrumentation Technologist certifications.
COVID-19 has wreaked havoc with wastewater collection system O&M. Eighty-plus utilities adopted Internet of Things technology for to predicting/prioritizing maintenance to reduce SSO threats. Monitoring and predictive analytical software reveals early-stage blockage formation and prioritizes workflow. Case studies cite how utilities overcome pandemic challenges with higher productivity and SSO prevention.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss how current O&M processes are vulnerable in crises like COVID-19.
Define qualify and quantify productivity gains through technology adoption.
Assess current practices and develop strategies to implement sustainable change.
