Daniel is a Project Engineer for the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. He has been in the Waste Collection Systems section for two years. He has prior experience in land development with design, procurement, and project management for over five years. He has an MS in Civil Engineering from Cal State Long Beach and a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, and has PE registration in civil engineering in California.

Andre Schmidt is a Supervising Engineer in the Energy Recovery Section at the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. The Section operates landfill gas-to-energy and waste-to-energy plants that generate over 80 MW of electricity, buys and sells energy for the agency, and is leading the development of the Sanitation Districts food waste recycling program. Andre has 15 years of experience with the Sanitation Districts in energy recovery and the design and operation of wastewater collection and treatment systems. He holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from USC.
