The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD) operated pilot-scale units to treat stormwater discharge at its solid waste facilities. At this session, you will learn which treatment methods LACSD investigated and which methods were effective at removing key contaminants.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the treatment methods that provided effective removal for key stormwater treatment contaminants.
Discover how each the fractionation of a contaminant can affect its ability to be treated cost-effectively.
Facilitate implementation of effective treatment technologies at their agency or company.

Rachel Deco is an Engineering Associate at the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. For the past five years she has worked in the Technical Services Department in the Wastewater Research Section. She has a Bachelor of Science in Geochemistry from the California Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Loyola Marymount University.
