Adapting IIPP: Risk Assessment of SARS-CoV-2 for Wastewater Workers and Strategies for Mitigation (On-Demand)

Recorded On: 11/10/2020

Since wastewater treatment workers are at an increased risk of infection and illness from water-based pathogens, treatment facilities need to evaluate how job tasks/activities influence risk. This session will engage academics, industry and wastewater workers in a presentation about risk assessment and strategies for mitigation.
Learning Objective(s) - after participating in this session, attendees will be able to:

• Describe the occupational risks associated with pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
• Identify key opportunities and challenges to mitigating occupation risk to aerosolized pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
• Determine adaptations to IIPP for the pandemic and other pathogens transmitted through aerosols to protect wastewater workers.
