Today, the requirement to identify and develop leaders is often overlooked. Without an intentional approach to developing leaders, organizations expose themselves to unexpected liability of underdeveloped leadership. Utilizing proven principles and practices, attendees will gain an awareness and greater understanding of some critical leadership issues, along with some practical applications that will help them, and those around them reach new leadership heights. This session is designed to equip water/wastewater professionals in successfully fulfilling their responsibility as a leader/team member and how to improve as they function in that role, and with the knowledge to help develop themselves and others into better leaders. In doing so will contribute to employee satisfaction, the overall succession plan, and ultimately the success of the organization.
From this session participants will be able to:
1. Evaluate their current approach on: Am I raising up potential leaders? Along with understanding the benefits from raising up leaders within the organization, and how it contributes to the overall succession plan.
2. Assess themselves on: Am I creating a climate for potential leaders? Along with practical ways to help leaders in their organization grow.
3. Understand the difference between leadership and management, and how both are critical to the organization’s success.
