This session will be a powerpoint presentation that covers a step-by-step "recipe" for how to build a pretreatment program from scratch. This presentation will cover lessons learned, tips and strategies, and provide a template for inspections and permits. The presentation covers beginning steps such as creating and distributing an industrial waste survey to finalizing and submitting SIU permits. The presentation will be structured as an open dialogue for participants to ask questions and give input with their own experiences. Information covered will be relevant to source control programs at all stages as it encompasses a wide range of topics (IWS, SIU permitting, inspections, templates) and showcases several hurdles in building a pretreatment program (obstinate industries, complicated regulations, sampling).

Learning Objective(s): After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:
• Create and utilize industrial user surveys
• Modify or build permitting templates
• Explore methods and strategies to construct or modify a pretreatment program
