1.2 contact hours towards CWEA's CSM certification.
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts operate and maintain 11 treatment plants to process about 400 million gallons of wastewater each day. Many of these plants have been in operation since the 1970s, and the primary treatment structures that are subject to hydrogen sulfide corrosion are in need of rehabilitation. This presentation will showcase the rehab projects developed for the Los Coyotes and Long Beach Water Reclamation Plants. You will learn about:
• The Districts’ engineering design process
• Strategies to divert and reroute the influent flow
• Approaches to managing risks through construction sequence planning
• Concrete repair and surface preparation
• The Districts’ experience with protective lining and coating systems
• Tips on what to watch out for during design and construction
